Windows 10: Managing what's on an extended screen from the primary screen?

Hi all,

Haven't had much luck finding any techniques or software that does this.

I am running a roleplaying game where I present pictures, maps etc to players on the BIG screen behind me, but of course have 'secret stuff' on the laptop screen in front of me.

Until now, I've just used 'extend' monitor to give me a clear desktop, but throwing pics onto that is...suboptimal by itself. (win-shift-right was a handy shortcut, of course) - the selected windows move to the large screen just fine, but they're various sizes (resolutions are significantly different), and if I want to manipulate them like tiling all the images across the screen, I have to move the mouse to the second screen and do it while everyone essentially watches.

What I'd like to find is something that would let me manage what is exactly seen / arranged on screen 2 from screen one, almost like PiP function (but more, ofc...).

If I have to flip screen 2 to screen 1, manage, and flip screen 2 back up that's not ideal but doable...as long as screen 2 is replaced by nothing or a wallpaper while I'm doing it - not the 'full of secret info' screen1.



I tried secondary desktops, but AFAIK win10 is fairly dimwitted - you can't for example "pc screen only" desktop one, and "mirror" screen 2....that screen sharing setting is locked for whatever screen you have active on the system that's sourcing.



Is this a futile hope? Or am I just missing something totally obvious? Or is there a solution but it's $00's? (I don't mind paying SOMETHING for it, but not $00's.) Display fusion as far as I can figure it out, doesn't offer this.



Any advice please?

View The Screens Of Extended Monitors From The Primary Monitor.​

Hi, I extended the screen of my PC to multiple devices. And want to see the screen of connected devices in my primary monitor to know what is showing on the screen of those devices because the non-primary devices are not directly visible to me.

With the latest Windows 10 update, I can no longer find where to go to extend a second screen or where to choose which screen is primary.

Thank you! Your post was very helpful up to a point. My system is using a Dell Laptop and a 27" external monitor. It uses the Intel Graphics Adapter and Intel Display Settings utility, so I can't just follow along with your step-by-step procedures. My Primary
has been the Laptop display and all Icons have resided there until a week ago. Now the Icons have moved to the second monitor and they go back to the laptop if I set it for built-in display only.
