Windows 10: 'manifest is damaged' in User-PnpEvents, from an sfc scan

Discus and support 'manifest is damaged' in User-PnpEvents, from an sfc scan in Windows 10 Performance & Maintenance to solve the problem; I did a routine 'sfc/scannow' in an admin window.     'manifest is damaged' in User-PnpEvents, from an sfc scan


    I did a routine 'sfc/scannow' in an admin window.

    Then I filtered to get the relevant info...here are the only 2 NON-successful lines:

    2016-05-10 08:09:18, Info CSI 00002b2f [SR] Cannot verify component files for Microsoft-Windows-User-PnpEvents, version 10.0.10586.0, arch amd64, nonSxS, pkt {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, manifest is damaged (TRUE)

    2016-05-10 08:18:37, Info CSI 00005402 [SR] Cannot verify component files for Microsoft-Windows-User-PnpEvents, version 10.0.10586.0, arch amd64, nonSxS, pkt {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, manifest is damaged (TRUE)

    and at the end, the log says:

    2016-05-10 08:18:41, Info CSI 0000540d [SR] Verify and Repair Transaction completed. All files and registry keys listed in this transaction have been successfully repaired

    So, are these 'manifest damaged' entries something to worry about?

    Received MS email asking if issue has been resolved.

    sfc/scannow shows corrupted files. sfc details text shows:

    Cannot verify component files for Microsoft-Windows-PlaySoundService-Client, Version = 10.0.10240.16384, pA Host= amd64 Guest= x86, nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, manifest is damaged (TRUE)

    Have tried DISM commands to attempt to RestoreHealth unsuccessfully.

    Can anyone tell me 1. If this is readily fixable, or 2. Is it worth the effort to try to repair?
