Windows 10: Manually rebuild performance counters for Windows Server when F runs nothing appears

i was playing modded minecraft and then my pc started to crash the game at launch, i followed this tutorial:https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/performance/manually-rebuild-performance-counters but when i get to the part where i need to write in teh cmd WINMGMT.EXE /RESYNCPER it does nothing, then i started powershell and doing the other command line :Get-Service -Name "pla" Restart-Service -Verbose it gave me this error :Restart-Service : 'Cannot access dependent services of 'Performance Logs & Alerts pla' At line:1 char:27 + Get-Service -Name "pla" Re

How to intentionally corrupt performance counter for testing purpose

Hi,

I want to intentionally corrupt performance counters(Perfdisk,PerfNet & PerfOS) to verify whether it is rebuild properly or not by our application since it depends on these performance counters. Currently I corrupt it by running 'lodctr /r' command and while
it is executing I power down the system and boot it and verify. I see it is getting corrupted.

I tried another method by deleting the 'Library' parameter in "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Perdisk\Performance". I'm not sure whether windows understands this state as corrupted or not.

And is there any other method to corrupt Performance Counters?

• Have you used any third part software to manage Disk partition?
• Did you format the drive?
• Have you performed a Clean Install?

I suggest you to check for the drive in Disk Management and see if it appears there. Follow the steps:

• Log on as administrator or as a member of the Administrators group.
• Press Windows+R key and type diskmgmt.msc, and then click OK.

See if the drive F: appears and does it appear as unallocated?
