  1. Manufacturer's name, bios version and drivers missing after windows 10 fresh start

Good day support, i have discovered problems in my Samsung laptop after i did a fresh start with windows 10. The problems include:

1, The manufacture's name missing from both the system info and the booting icon.

2, Pci simple communication controller driver is missing from device manager.

3, My Bluetooth driver is missing and i cannot turn on my WIFI even though it is enabled in network adapter.

4, My fan also went silent. Not sure if its on or off but the device manager shows ACPI fan driver working properly.

I also noticed that when i access "msconfig" and edit the settings to normal, the problems 1,2, and 3 gets solved on restart but once i shut down or restart again, the problems return. Read online that reinstalling intelR management engine interface driver will fix it but that didnt work.

Updated all my drivers still the errors persist. Please i will require your advice on this issues.

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

  2. Directx recognizes different BIOS version than actual installed BIOS version

    Hi,

Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

With regards to BIOS information, I suggest you to get in touch with the computer manufacturer as they will be able to give a better clarity on it.

Windows 10 by default comes with DirectX11.

Firstly, I suggest you to install all the pending Windows Updates and check.

If issue still persists, I suggest you to try updating the Display Adapter drivers check if it works for you.

Follow the steps to update the Display driver:

    • Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.
    • Expand ‘Display Adapters’.
    • Right-click on the Display Adapter listed and click on ‘Update Driver Software’.
    • Select the option to automatically search for the updated driver software.
    • Restart the computer after its updated and verify.
Also try to access the computer manufacturer's website and download the latest display drivers for your computer and install the same.

Hope this information is helpful. Please do let us know if you need further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.

  3. Start > Programs. How to show program name - not manufacturer's name?

    .
    I have Windows 10 Pro.

I tried to find a seldom-used program using Start > Programs. The search took a long time, because the list of programs contained the manufacturer's name - not the name of the program.

Is it possible to edit or modify the entry so that I see the name of the program - rather than the name of the manufacturer?

Of course, as a last resort I can uninstall and re-install, making sure that I edit the default install location (which I normally do).

    Thanks.
    .
