  1. Map iTunes music to W drive, an external hard drive, but defaults back to C drive

I store my music on an external drive found next to my desktop. The external drive is labeled W by the computer and the IP address is also shown there. That way, when I play my music in SONOS the desktop computer does not need to be on.

I recently replaced my old computer with a new one that has a small C drive and the larger D drive for files. I found out my music was being stored onnot only the W drive, but the C drive.

The iTunes Media folder location keeps defaulting back to the C drive and a copy of all my music is also on the C drive. Yesterday I imported a CD in iTunes, but it was placed on the C drive and not the W drive. SONOS could not find the new music because it was looking for it on the W drive.

I keep changing the music location to the W drive in iTunes, Advanced Settings, but it keeps defaulting back to the C drive.

How do I make iTunes save the mapping to the W drive and stop defaulting back to the C drive. My music file size right now is 25.1 GB so I don't want it on the C drive.

    :)

  2. Saving music to external hard drive

I have a new laptop on which I have downloaded the iTunes program. I have an external hard drive (New Volume F) on which I have stored my existing music collection. Thanks to the Microsoft Community I am able to listen to my music through iTunes on my
new laptop. Please advise me how to burn CDs onto the external hard drive (F) rather than onto the hard drive (C) on the new laptop.

  3. Saving music to external hard drive

    Sorry I meant "rip"!

I have Windows 10 Home on my laptop.. I have my music collection stored on an external hard drive. I listen to it through iTunes.

I am able to rip cds, but how can I store the new music on the external hard drive rather than on the laptop?

    Thx
