Windows 10: Mapped drive folder not loading all items until its refreshed.

So, I have 1 folder in a mapped drive that is not loading all of it items when initially accessed until the folder is refreshed. This is only happening for one folder in the mapped drive and the issue is only happening in one of my 6 mapped drives. The issue is as follows...

- I access the J drive and all folders and files / items load properly.

- I access the Deals folder that is experiencing the issue and 1,760 items load.

- If I refresh the folder 3,176 items load.

-- Also, toggling the Hidden Items setting just toggling it, doesn't matter what its set to gets all the items to load.

-- Backing out of the Deals folder and going back into it also gets all the items to load.


If I map a network drive straight to the Deals folder instead of its parent folder all items load.

If I access the Deals folder using its UNC path instead of the mapped drive all items load.


I am only experiencing this issue on one computer and it is affecting all users on the computer. I have tried rebuilding one of the effected users profiles and it did not resolve the issue. The effected users do not have any issues with all of the Deals folders items loading through the J drive on other computers.


Any help in resolving this issue would be much appreciated.

Mapped Drives Issues

To clarify .... the issue is the Windows 10 OS. It is with Windows File Explorer. The Mapped drives used to appear in File Explorer's left panel list of drives and folders. Two days ago File explorer stopped show the mapped drives. so not they don;t appear in the list of Drives and folders.

I did, it has no effect. I also check the NAS devices they support SMB 2.0. Also I have several other computers on my home network they work fine with the mapped drives and They do not have SMB 1 turned on. So it is something that happened to the computer in question.

 

Map a network drive folder to my video library

To Include folders using Manage Library Tools, we suggest that you perform the steps below:

• In File Explorer, select or open a library (ex: Videos) you want to include a folder or drive to.
• Click on the Library Tools Manage tab, and click on the Manage library button in the ribbon.
• Click on the Add button
• Browse to and select a folder or drive that you want to include in this library, and click on the Include folder button.
• When finished, click/tap on OK.

Download folder slow to load (already set to "General Items")

Hello PF75 ,

Don here, Windows 10 Independent Adviser. Have you tried setting the "Download Properties" of the download folder into "General items"?

If not, open up your file explorer then right click on the "Downloads" icon on the left hand side of the window. Click on "Properties" and then once a window opens up navigate to the "Customize" tab. Select "General items" from the "Optimize this folder for:"
list and then click Ok. Re-open your file explorer and check to see if the Downloads folder is still loading slowly or not.

Let us know if this did not work so we could suggest other possible solutions.
