Windows 10: Mapped drive not listed in the snipit program. Says path cant be found

Discus and support Mapped drive not listed in the snipit program. Says path cant be found in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; This is on a fresh install of Windows 10.     This is on a fresh install of Windows 10. At work we use the snip program a lot and save the snips in a mapped "I" drive. Worked well under Windows 7. Windows 10 sees the drive through file explorer just fine


    Our problem is when using the snip it program, the drive isn't listed as a choice to save. It returns a error saying path not found. In our program we use the snips on, it cant find any files and returns the same error. However we can manually go to the drive and select it and the files can be seen and saved. Whats strange is that we got three new computers and 1 works properly and the other two don't.


    I am sure it's just a association setting or some other type of setting, but we cant figure out what. I wasnt sure if I should post to this group of the settings group. If I need to move please let me know

    Can we no longer map a PATH (not just a drive)?

    Hi,

    Inability to map a path may occur due to configuration settings on your mapped drive. For us to properly isolate the case, supply more information by answering these questions:

    • Which version and build of Windows 10 are you using?
    • Are you using a group policy to specify a path?
    • Can you send us a screenshot of the part or option that is grayed out?
    • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue?

    File Explorer - Path for a mapped drive

    Sometimes I want to get the full path that i have mapped and copy and paste to send to someone.

    I can usually just do a rt click and rename and copy it from there. BUT, if i had edited the path to make it just a one word name or something in the past, i cant get that path, unless i go to Map Network drive and find it in the list of drives i have mapped.

    Now when i do that, you guys have made the box very narrow so i cant see the full path so it makes it really difficult to find it. Please widen that path in the drop down folder for the Mapped drive in File Explorer. Why so narrow???? Needs to be changed
    so i can find longer paths in a list of similar paths, but slightly different. It creates frustration. i guess no one there has a bunch of long paths mapped and then edited as a shorter name and doesnt need to copy and paste the path to anyone else. i have
    run into this issue several times. Widen that box there. thanks.
