Windows 10: Mark all files in folder and all subfolders as Read-Only, but not the folders themselves

Hi,How do i set all the files in a directory and all the files in it's subdirectories as read-only, but NOT mark the folder or its subfolders as read-only?

Hidden folders

I installed `Kane and Lynch` on my PC twice in Program Files(x86) folder but I can`t find them (2 folders with game). But free space on my HDD is lower. So there`re those folders on my hdd. I use option `unhide` hidden folders but still can`t find them. Any suggestions? How can i delete those hidden folders?

When I run istallation for this game I can see those folders in Program Files(x86) folde.

I`m using Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

 

Program Files folder Read Only

Hi,

I have an application which is installed in the "Program Files" folder. I need to change the configuration file in one of the application's subfolder, but folder is marked as Read Only as are all folders in "Program Files" an their subfolders.

I tried following sollutions:

1) right click the folder and change the properties (deselect Read Only)

2) change the folder's attributes using a cmd window as administrator

3) played around with the user permissions

No solution seems to work. It looks as if the read only attribute is dropped, but immediately put back to Read Only again. The user which is performing this tasks is a member of the administrators group.

How can I change the configuration file?
