May 9, 2018 Windows 10 update wiped out documents and app

May 9, 2018 Microsoft downloaded and installed an update to my system, then restarted the computer. Now all of my document files, while still listed, are empty. LibreOffice 3.4 is likewise simply gone. What have you done? This was years of my medical
files, letters, the most recent of which were not yet saved to a zip drive. What in the world have you done? How are you going to correct this?
