Windows 10: Massive host file optimization issue fix?

I like to maximize privacy on devices. One way I wanted to improve privacy in addition to browser and dns blocking is host file blocking is by using https://github.com/StevenBlack/hosts which I hoped would improve speed by reducing need to query dnd resolved by allowing some requests to be blocked by the host file instead.However this caused issues similar to https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/dns-client-service-slow-initialization-if-hosts/1e71d00d-e027-494e-b215-f0e44a9bf392 but worse, to the point any connections that actually listen to the host file seem to fa

Hosts file editing

I have to jump in and say I use, and have used the host file for years. It's an easy way to take stress off of old name servers. I don't add everything, but major shares I do add to the host file. I've used the host file for some tunneling as well. I try to optimize my network as much as possible and I have a solid network. But Easy Rhino is right as well, you'll want to have everything he suggested as well. *Toast :toast:

From the OP it appears Hosts is not being changed, rather it is being ignored....

 

Massive Security Flaw - Bitlocked Files Can Be Opened From "Recent Files" ...While "Locked" and Without Password!

Simple steps to reproduce:

1. Unlock a bitlocked drive.
   
2. Open a file from that drive (example = image file)
   
3. Reboot machine, confirm drive is relocked.
   
4. From "Recent Items," attempt to open the file
   
5. The file opens, even though the drive is locked
   

WHOA!

Obviously this is a massive security problem that should never occur, but is there a user-implementable fix?
