Windows 10: Massive .tmp file taking up half my hard drive...

Hi everyoneI have a folder in my root directory called $tmpWhen I opened the folder, there is a file called $$delete.tmp, created on the 22/06/2021 and last modified on 24/06/2021. But this file is 473GB!!!!It's taking up over half of my C: Drive. I want to delete it but of course, it is too big to put in the recycle bin so has to be permanently deleted. Does anyone know if it is safe to delete this file and what the heck has created it in the first place??Thank youElliotUK

hi i just update my pc to another version and then when he load up tmp file is in my hard drive using 900gb someone could help me ?!?!?!??!Reset_SafeToDelete_OverwriteSpaceFile_0.tmp

 

Excel Creates tmp files on USB drive and not on internal hard drives

When I open an Excel file stored on a USB drive, when I save this file it creates a .tmp file along with the saved file. When I open this same Excel file stored on my hard drive and save it, no .tmp file is created. When I try to delete the .tmp files off of the USB drive they look like they are deleted, but when I get out of file explorer and then go back in, the .tmp files are still there. Only when I use "diskpart", Select Disk, then change the disk's attributes to clear readonly, can I then truely delete these files. Also, if I try to eject the USB drive it is telling me that it is in use by another program and will not safely remove. Not sure if all or any of these conditions matter, but would really like to have the system stop creating these .tmp files that won't automatically delete in the first place, or be allowed to be deleted without having to go in and change their attributes. Please help.

TMP*****.$$$ files?

I have an N73 mobile phone and I always install new applications on the memory card. So I was surprised to find that more than half of the space of my C drive(in mobile phone) is used up. I checked all the folders using Y-Browser and found lots of TMP*****.$$$(for
example TMP04907.$$$) under C:\System\data\mg2. It's those files that take up nearly half of the total space. Are they system files or temporary files? Is it safe to delete them?
