Windows 10: Master Volume not working

Hi! I have a problem where changing master volume on my notebook PC when using built-in speakers doesn't change the actual volume. It works fine when using headphones. The drivers are up-to-date, and I tried restarting the audio service and doing audio troubleshooting to no avail

any way to override the master volume control?

My master volume control slider slides back to zero each time is it pushed upward. I believe this is a hardware issue.

Nevertheless, i am asking this question in desperation whether there is a way to deliver audio output with volume.

I tried a usb audio controller and even channelling the sound through bluetooth but the volume control of these are also controlled by the master volume control.

Any suggestions or tricks (aprt from a repair)?

Volume control not working

Hi, this didn't work. I've tried most of these steps already, and as I've said, my problem is not that I can't hear sound, my problem is that my volume is always at full volume, regardless of what volume setting my master volume is at.

This issue may occur due to audio controller is corrupt. Try the below methods and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Method 1.

I would suggest you try to connect in different port and check f it helps. If the issue still persist try below method.



Method 2.

I would suggest you to run sound audio troubleshooter, it will automatically detect the problem and fix it. Follow the below steps.

• Press Windows key + R and click on Control Panel.
• Click on View by: category and click on Small icon.
• Now click on troubleshooting and click on Hardware and Sound.
• Click on Playing Audio and Click on Next button.
  

Method 3.

I would suggest you to un-install the audio controller from the Device Manager and check if helps. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc and hit the Enter.
• Go into Device Manager and expand Universal Serial Bus controller.
• And right click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node related to USB headset and remove them at a time.
• Restart the computer, and then reinstall the USB controllers.
