Windows 10: master volume stuck at 100% even mute will not turn off sound

just got a brand new PC fresh install of windows, i did my due diligence and updated all drivers and ensured all volume control items such as headset and keyboard have been updated. i cannot adjust the master volume in settings and i feel im about to go deaf from the pings. what the heck can i do

Volume stuck on Mute

I have windows 7. I have done nothing to change anything but suddenly the volume is stuck on mute. I can't even access the volume key. Suggestions. I have tried going to the control panel and that did not work either.

 

Volume control at 100, can't mute or reduce sound

The volume buttons (louder, softer, mute) on laptop sound do not work. The headphone volume is set to 100, and when I click on the slider to lower volume, the slider automatically slides back up to 100. The black and green volume control box is constantly
displayed in upper left of screen -- again, set to 100. When I click on slider to lower volume, the slider automatically slides back up to 100.

I just did a SFC /scannow to address a dropdown menu issue, and so the system has been verified.

Please advise a fix. Thanks.

 

Windows will now mute volume

I am currently running windows 10. Whenever I use my keyboard to mute volume, my volume just jumps from whatever the volume is at to 100 and then back when i try to click mute again. the volume indicator jumps to 100 but the volume of sound does not increase
or decrease. All other multifunctional keys for sound work fine such as mute mic, increase or decrease volume. Just not mute volume. Not sure what is going on.
