Windows 10: Maximum brightness very dim after windows update. Brightness slider in settings moves but...

After a windows updated I noticed the maximum brightness of my laptop screen was quite dim, when I use the brightness buttons on my keyboard the slider that appears is different from what it looked like before the update. The brightness slider in settings and on the taskbar can be moved however this does not adjust birghtness in any way. There is no new update for my graphics driver and I have uninstalled the monitor from my device manager. Please help.

Brightness slider

After the update, the traditional brightness slider might have been moved to a different location or incorporated into a different settings menu. Look for alternative brightness controls in the display settings, power settings, or system settings on your laptop.

 

N9 brightness slider update please...

Nokia, can you add a brightness slider for the auto dim in next software update? You cannot disable auto brightness on N9 currently, but it would be nice to adjust it like the normal brightness or turn auto dim off...

Some computers can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions.

To manually adjust the screen brightness, we suggest following these troubleshooting steps:

• Click Start, then select Settings.
• Choose System, then select Display.
• Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.
