Windows 10: Maximum number of C:\User Profiles in Win 10 not local accounts

My company has a dozen domain PCs at different sites with Windows 10 Pro being used to check-in visitors. Because many people log into these PCs over time a large number of profiles have been created in the C:\Users folder. In one case we had 65 profiles. Does anyone know the maximum number of DOMAIN user profiles NOT local accounts that can be created in Windows 10 Pro before performance issues arise. And if the max is exceeded specifically what type of performance issues could occur.

New Local Account Not Working In Windows 10

This issue could have happened due to corrupted profile on your Windows 10. We suggest that you delete the non-working profile on your PC and try to register it again.

To delete your non-working account, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Click on the *Start menu**. It's the Windows logo in the bottom left of your screen.
• 
  Click on Settings.
  
• 
  Click on Accounts.
  
• 
  Click on Family & other users.
  
• 
  Click on the account you wish to remove.
  
• 
  Click on the remove button.
  
• 
  Click on the Delete account and data button.

Windows 10 user account immediately logs out

• Have you tried the steps provided above?
• If you have tried the steps provided above, is issue still persisting?
• What was the result of SFC scan? Did it find corruption or not?

Try to create new user profile as an administrator and see if issue persists in new user profile. For creating new user profile you may refer to the steps provided below.

• 
  Press Windows key + R
  
• 
  Type control userpasswords2 and click OK
  
• 
  Click on add under users tab
  
• 
  Click the option, "Sign-in without a Microsoft account
  
• 
  Click on Local account
  
• 
  Choose a name for the account
  
• 
  Add password if you want to
  
• 
  Apply and click OK.

Lost User Account

I understand the inconvenience you are facing with user accounts, we will help you to resolve this issue.



I would like to inform that there can be only one Microsoft user account on one device, and that might be the reason you are unable to change the email address for the user account.



I suggest you to create a new account (Local account) on your computer and transfer the content to newly created user account.



Step 1: Creating a new user account

• Type cmd in the Search bar form the desktop.
• Now, Right-click on cmd.exe from the result and select Run As Administrator.
  
• User Account Control or UAC dialog box will appear, click on Yes.
  
• Type net user username password /add
  
  [Replace ‘username’ and ‘password’ with your desired username and password]
  

Step 2. Copying old files to newly created User Profile

• Go to C:\Users\(Your-Corrupted-Profile-Name)\ (L: file:///C:/Users/(Your-Corrupted-Profile-Name)/)
  
• Copy all files except three files:

• 
  NtUser.dat
  
• 
  NtUser.ini
  
• 
  NtUser.log
  

3. Go to C:\Users\(New-User-Profile-name)\ (L: file:///C:/Users/(New-User-Profile-name)/)

4. Paste all those copied files here.
