Windows 10: May 4 Windows 10 update disabled headphone audio

Asus gaming notebook. Before update audio worked fine.Now only option is speakers.No headphone port listed in device manager or in audio controls.Please fix asap. Seriously ****. It's not that hard to QA audio folks.Checked the Realtek audio drivers. They are the latest version.Please don't have ur Pajeets tell us to run the troubleshooter.Try doing real dev work instead. That would be fantastic.Cheers.

Everyone that post ids, need just do these steps and you will be good. I kinda tired of keep on uploading the inf. file

1.Go Open up device manager
2. Go under sound,video, and game controllers
3. Find Realtek High Definition Audio
4. Right click and hit update driver
5. Browse my computer for driver software
6. Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
7. Click Have Disk and hit browse
8. Click on the Realtek HD Audio mod folder and look for win64
9. Click on the HDXRT4 and click ok,
10. Click Next and Yes
additional if you want dts audio and others, install it now before next step.
After it is done, restart the PC

You should be good then and also make sure before doing these steps that you have driver enforcement disabled.

 

Windows 10 not playing audio on headphones.

Try the below methods to troubleshoot the issue on the headphones and check if this helps.

Before trying the below methods, I suggest you to try connecting the headphones to a different port or check the headphones on a different computer and check if you are able to hear the audio from the headphone.

Method 1:
Setting The Headphones As Default Playback Device.

1. Select on the Start button > Type Sound in the search box > Select
   Sound from the list of results.
2. Go to Playback tab > Select your headphones > Then click on
   Set Default.
3. Restart the computer once and check if this helps.

Method 2:
Updating The Audio Drivers.

Follow the steps mentioned in Update drivers in Windows 10
and update your Sound drivers and check if you are able to hear the audio from the headphones.

Restart the computer once after updating the sound drivers.
