Windows 10: MBR2GPT non-system drive conversion

Is it possible to convert non-system drive from MBR to GPT via mbr2gpt? When i tried, it failed with: Cannot find OS partitions for disk 1. If not, how can i convert it to GPT?

MBR2GPT: ValidateLayout: Too many MBR partitions found, no room to create EFI system partition.

I deleted the inactive recovery partition.

Then I ran the mbr2gpt conversion command. It was successful but I got below error:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>mbr2gpt /convert /disk:2 /allowfullos

MBR2GPT will now attempt to convert disk 2.
If conversion is successful the disk can only be booted in GPT mode.

So when I try to manually disable and enable winRE, I get below error:

REAGENTC.EXE: The Windows RE image was not found.

 

After mbr2gpt conversion, Windows 10 system cannot boot

Before I ran mbr2gpt my Windows 10 PC had MBR partition with two volumes: one System Reserve partition (2G), one OS partition(236G). After I ran

mbr2gpt /convert /disk:0 /allowFullOS

A third partition was created. The running information showed the conversion was completed successfully. When I tried to reboot it to change firmware to UEFI boot, bad thing happened: Windows Boot Manager prompted \Boot\BCD had an 0xc000000f error. Then I changed firmware to boot from UEFI, a blue screen that showed "Registry Error" appeared.

I believe some thing happened to System Reserved partition, but I don't know how to fix it. I tried to use bootrec to repair BCD, but failed.

I would appreciate any idea which can help fix this issue.

 

MBR2GPT Error - Frustrated

I think those steps will fail because mbr2gpt is looking for a system partition, which you just deleted previously.
