as the title says, I am looking for the initial MCT. Somehow I deleted mine accidently. Is there by chance someone that still has that one??
I already have the MCT 10586.117 and the newest one 10.14393.0

windows media creation tool for updating

Hi

I was wondering if by using the media creation tool for windows 10 instead of waiting for the update to become available is a good idea?

I keep getting update failed in my windows update - 15 on them now to be exact from the past hour.

It just seems strange that if its possible to download and install the OS with this tool then why is everyone waiting for the update to drop or in my case work.

Is the media creation tool for something else?

Microsoft determined my Toshiba machine could be successfully upgraded from Win7 to Win10.

I was going to use the Media Creation Tool to either do an automatic repair or failing that perform a restore. Not a clean install.

 

Hi you can get one using this tool:
Microsoft Windows and Office ISO Download Tool

It will give you a Smartscreen warning- bypass it - and when you select Win 10, wait a little, then use the dropdown to select your version.

 

You might be able to use the Web Archive website to look at the old version of the Microsoft page. I seemed to get a 10240 tool from the 31 July version of the English page. I didn't try to download it though.
