    Media Creation Tool updated for Windows 10 build 10586.36


    The media creation tool now downloads 10586.36 by default. This is good news as it shows MS intend to keep the isos up to date. No longer windows 7 style 200+ updates on a clean install.

    Also version selection now correctly shows SL now.

    The Windows 10 installation media offered by the Media creation tool is the latest build. So, if you will use the Media Creation Tool, you will still get the Creators Update.

    Let us know if you have any other concerns.

    Wants app for .256e0 file in windows 10 Creator

    I had to go to support, computer started to lock-up. Used Dell restore media to do a clean install. I am now on build 1607, everything working fine. Is build 1607 the creator build?

    I answered my own queston, Creator's build is 1703. I am considering updating, as Media creation tool image on DVD had problems after a clean install on new SSD.

    According to info when you hover cursor over the mediacreationtool.exe file, it says version 10586.35.

    This is the version you would get if you elected not to install updates during the installation (I wonder if it is .36 really but a simple typing error?).

    Of course, if you elect to update during installation, it will update all the way to .63).
