Windows 10: Media Creation Tools error code 0x80072EE7 -0x20000 on Windows 11 with perfectly working...

Hi. I'm trying to format my Laptop to solve some issues and I have beenh instructed to execute the media creation tool and create a bootable USB drive to reinstall Windows 11. However, when I execute de Media Creation Tool, I get the error code listed in the title. I have found some references to this in this forum, but they say it has to do with not having an internet connection, which is not my case i am writing this message on that very Laptop. I have tried restarting the PC and disabling the Internet security software Kaspersky, but I still get the same error. How could I solve this issu

I ran the Media creation Tool many times. Following is the error outcome.

Can someone support please !!

Please help ANYONE!

My pc has stopped connecting to the internet (via ethernet) and after trying about 10,000 "fixes" and none of them working I decided to try reinstalling windows 10 from a usb stick with the Media Creation Tool.

However as soon as it starts to run I get the error code 0x80072EE7 -0x20000. What does that mean?? I've done numerous searches and tried all of those "fixes" to no avail. If anyone can help or even explain what is causing the problem it would be amazing.

Please note: I am running windows 10, this is not for a windows upgrade, it's for a reinstall. And my pc cannot connect to the internet in any other way.

Ok so Windows 10 has always been a bit unstable on my laptop ever since upgrading, it crashes occasionally and does not complete all updates, although some seem to have been applied.

I've now purchased a new SSD and want to do a completely clean reinstall in the hope that this will also fix these issues. My computer otherwise works fine, internet and other programs etc I just cant get to the bottom of why windows is having so much trouble
with connections.

I believe I can use the Media Creation Tool to create a media boot on a usb.

Then I could switch the new SSD in and do the reinstall on this clean drive without ever needing to wipe the old drive.

(Please someone correct me if I'm wrong even at this point)

After downloading the Media Creation Tool it fails to run and I get the error code: 0x80072ee7 - 0x20000 relating to not being able to connect to the internet:

The issue is not my internet, that is fast and stable (again everything else works fine).

I've tried running it without firewalls and antivirus with no change

I have spent hours with Windows tech support (who were great) and have run all the troubleshooting, DISM, checks, clean reboots etc a few errors were found but Windows update still does not run and neither will the Media Creation Tool.

Can anyone suggest anything I could try either to get the media tool working or another way I can create a clean install on my new SSD?

I'd rather not wipe my current HDD but its not a deal breaker, if there's another option I'll back up what I need and wipe it. In the end all I really want is a clean install of Windows 10 on my new SSD rather than just bringing across whatever conflicts
I seem to have acquired with my current step up.

Any suggestions at all would be fantastic as at this point I'm really lost as to what i can do next.
