Windows 10: Media Feature Pack on Windows 10 22H2 With SCCM Windows Updates

Windows 10 21H1 Media Feature Pack Unavailable

I attempted to use PS Remote Play on my Windows 10 machine and was prompted to install the Media Feature Pack. I tried following the steps HERE for 20H1 as 21H1 is not listed, but the Media Feature pack is not listed in available features and in Windows Features, the Media Features option is selected already.

Appears that maybe Microsoft has not released a Media Feature pack for 21H1 yet. Has anyone found a work around or know a solution?

 

Windows 10 Home - Media Feature Pack

There is a big possibility that the version of the Media Feature Pack
that you're downloading is not compatible with the current version of your Windows. Let's try to check first your Windows version. See the steps below on how to do so:

• Press Windows key, then type in winver.
• A pop-up box will show up containing your Windows version.
• Send us a screenshot.

In the meantime, here are the Media Feature Pack for different Windows version:

• Media Feature Pack for N edition of Windows 10 Version 1703 (April 2017).
• Media Feature Pack for N editions of Windows 10 Version 1607.

I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Windows Media Feature Pack. You can download and install the Media Feature Pack for Windows 10 as an Optional Feature by following these steps:



Select the Start button, then select Settings > Apps > Apps and Features > Optional features > Add a feature.

Find the Media Feature Pack in the list of available optional features.

You may also need to install additional apps from the Microsoft Store to regain additional functionality, such as media codecs, Skype, Movies & TV, Windows Media Player, etc.

Download the Feature Pack from Microsoft: If the Windows Media Feature Pack is not available in the optional features list, you can download it from the Microsoft website. Go to the Media Feature Pack download page for your version of Windows 10 (e.g., Windows 10 May 2019 Update) and click the download link. Follow the instructions to install the Feature Pack.
