Windows 10: Media Player-C drive

Discus and support Media Player-C drive in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; I put a new cd/dvd player in my computer. I have media player and Windows DVD player.     I put a new cd/dvd player in my computer. I have media player and Windows DVD player. When I put a cd in nothing happens. It doesn't show the C drive or what is in it.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.


    • Open Windows Media Player.

    • Click on File, select manage library

    • Select Music.

    • Click on Add, there you will be able to add the location i.e. External drive.

    Run the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter
    and check, if the issue persists.

    Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter:

    a. Press “Windows key” on your keyboard.

    b. Type Troubleshooting and click Troubleshooting under Settings.

    c. Now select Programs in the search option.

    d. Under Media Player, select Windows Media Player Settings
    to run the troubleshooter.

    Method 1:

    Run the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter and check, if the issue persists.

    Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter:

    a. Press “Windows key” on your keyboard.

    b. Type Troubleshooting and click Troubleshooting under Settings.

    c. Now select Programs in the search option.

    d. Under Media Player, select Windows Media Player Settings to run the troubleshooter.

    Method 2:

    Perform System File Check (SFC), and then, check, if this fixes the issue.

    Follow these steps, mentioned below:

    a. Press “Windows Key

    b. Type “cmd” without quotes in the search box.

    c. On the left pane, right click on the “cmd” option and select “Run as Administrator”.

    d. Type ‘sfc /scannow’ without quotes and hit enter.

    Note: It may ask for windows installation DVD to fix and to enable SFC to make more than minor repairs. Some files saved on your computer might get deleted when fixing corrupted files.

    Method 3:

    If that doesn’t work, I would suggest you to uninstall then re-install Windows Media Player and then check, if this fixes the issue.

    Follow these steps, mentioned below:

    a. Press “Windows key”.

    b. Type “Turn Windows Features on or off” without quotes in the search box and hit enter.

    c. Expand “Media Features” option.

    d. Un-check “Media Player”.

    e. Restart the computer.

    Follow these steps to re-install Windows Media Player:

    a. Press “Windows key + W”.

    b. Type “Turn Windows Features on or off” without quotes in the search box and hit enter.

    c. Expand “Media Features” option.

    d. Make a check mark next to “Media Player”.

    e. Restart the computer.
