Windows 10: Media Player not playing on first try but works fine on second try

Hello All, media player will not play when I click on a media file. The player opens but does nothing.If I close it then double click on the same file it works fine.It does this or every single file the first time but if I restart the laptop andclick on a previous file it opens fine.Does anybody know how I cnaresolve this please?Any help greatly appreciated.Steve

I have installed Win 10

Media player worked fine at first. Now when I try to play any music it runs for a second or 2 then shuts down saying error

Any idea what is going on with this ? After looking to remove and re-installing Media Player noticed it was not on my list for removable programming like as if was never installed. Any tips suggestions would be awesome....... I love my music and want it
back !!

 

Windows media player will only play 15 seconds of a song

This just started and Itunes plays the same songs fine but media player stops after a few seconds anyone have an idea here.

What is the exact error message you get when you to try play files on Windows Media Player?

I suggest you to run both Windows Media Player Library and Settings troubleshooter and check.

Step 1: If your computer is having problems playing video or audio files in Windows Media Player, try using the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter to fix the problem. The troubleshooter checks the configuration and network settings
for Windows Media Player to make sure that you can play content you've downloaded and saved to your computer, or content streaming over a network or the Internet.

Steps to run Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter are as follows:

• Press Windows key + X and select Control Panel.
• In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click
  Troubleshooting.
• Click View all, and then click Windows Media Player Settings
  and follow the instructions.

Step 2: If your computer is having problems accessing your collection of digital media files in the Windows Media Player Library, try using the Windows Media Player Library troubleshooter to fix the problem. The troubleshooter makes sure
Windows Media Player is correctly installed on your computer, and checks to see whether your Player Library is corrupted.
