Windows 10: MediaCreationTool download "ESD"

Hello,I want to make a bootabile stick USB with Windows 11 Pro x64 and and didn't work, if I try to download to USB to make him bootable after he finishes downloading USB has a name "ESD-USB" not like I know normally "CCCOMA_X64FRE_EN-US_DV9".When I try to download ISO image on SSD is the same, and image have 5.27 GB occupied space not like normal 6.26... 6.33 GB.When I download direct from Microsoft page, the last option multi-edition ISO seems to be ok.

ISO's and the Windows MediaCreationTool

Unfortunately that is a flawed plan due to the way the MCT works. It doesn't actually download an ISO, rather it downloads the ESD files and other components files required to to construct an ISO. As such no two ISOs made by the MCT will have the same CRC, each one is a bespoke one-off.

You can have confidence in them though. The step after downloading the ESD components, but before constructing the ISO, is for the MCT to verify each of the files it has downloaded (presumably with its own CRC check).

• Have you tried to check the files in your Recycle bin?
• May we know what troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
• May we know what ESD file are you trying to create? Is it for Windows 10 update?

Where does the mediaCreationTool save the downloaded iso?


Hey guys, this is my first post here. And I pretty much made an account to stress this issue that I have right now.

Ok, so I chose to upgrade my PC through the mediaCreationTool and waited for the download to finish.
A few minutes later it was checking for updates. Then bam.

My PC suddenly restarted. What I want to know basically is where the mediaCreationTool saves the iso as it has already finished downloading, and if I can use that iso without mediaCreationTool's help?
