Windows 10: Mediatek wifi card not working problem on laptop

first, i buy my asus tuf 15, everything work normally like nothing will happen, and then. it's some random day while i was playing poe, my laptop disconnected from internet, i tried to find out what problem with my laptop, and i figured that my wifi card device was turned off when i go to "device manager" and enable the "show hidden device" option. it not like you disable and enable that device, it "real" turn off, cant do things with it, i have try some trick form internet post, some said that because mediatek card suck, some said that the driver suck, some said that i need a fully shutdown

The solution is

Shut down the laptop

1. Hold power button for 60s (probably less than that)
   
2. Release power button
   
3. Laptop boots
   
4. Wi-fi module works again (internal memory cleaned)
   

What’s the deal with it?

The OEM mt7921e has had kernel support for much longer than the AMD rebrand of the same card. The reason it recognizes Bluetooth but not Wifi is that the rebrand’s PCI-ID is not known to the kernel. To make the existing driver work in older kernels you must register its PCI-ID to the driver.

I'll tell you how I fixed an identical problem on a ASUS laptop that had run perfectly on Windows 7 and ran well on W10 from January until the Anniversary update in early August. I tried everything I found on this forum and two others. Nothing worked. The last thing someone suggested was disabling the adapter and using a WiFi dongle. Problem continued. Nobody suggested changing the wireless network adapter. I bought and installed an Intel 7260 WiFi card and just used the driver which was downloaded on the reboot after the install. All problems solved!!

I must have wasted two months reading and trying everything. Even the manufacturer support inferred I needed a new machine though they sent me a Windows 8.1 driver to try, with the same result.

I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to determine if they white list any cards and see if they have suggestions for a compatible card. They may want you to buy another laptop but if the cards aren't white listed, a simple card swap to one compatible with Windows 10 seems to be the answer.

 

WIFI 6 (Mediatek MT7921) disconnects randomly

Thanks to you i have fixed this problem. I have Asus M16 (2021) and wifi card disconnected random. Now it's ok. I hope that windows update doesn't blow everything up again....
