Mediocre sound quality despite excellent speakers

I have just gotten a new Win laptop - MSI Stealth 16, supposedly a great laptop - and have been struggling to get good, acceptable sound quality. I come from an old mac, where the sound was terrific. What's problematic:I've tried various equalisers in Win 11 including Boom, Peace, but they were very bad, and am currently using FxSound. Basically, it sounds quite artificial and hollow. Highs which should be higher are more faint, depths which should be stronger are weaker. Also, the volume sometimes fluctuates, for example when someone is singing - you can hear that it is being lowered in vol

    E6 mediocre call quality

    Hello,

I can also say that the call quality is horrible. I had a N900 and the sound was excelent.

With the E6, I hear a small noise, not from the caller, but from the phone's ear speaker. I haven't tried with the external speaker but for me, the sound quality is bad.

    Sound Quality

One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.

    Unacceptable speaker sound quality

I've tried 2 different HP PROBOOK laptops and both have very poor speaker quality, scratchy, faint, tinny sound. Any suggestions ho to fix?
