Windows 10: Meet Wraith, AMD's whisper-quiet new stock CPU cooler

I was just reading about the new AM4 chips AMD is coming out with.

Those chips and these new fans.. looks like AMD is really improving. I never had a problem with them before (I'm running a FX-6300), but it's always nice when things get even better! *Smile

 

Was about time AMD did something. They had become pretty much irrelevant.

 

I don't know, unless your buying the extreme top end CPU, I think you get more bang for your buck with AMD. IMHO anyway. They can't compete with Intel at the high end, but you pay big bucks for the absolutely fastest Intel CPU. Big bucks, more than I can afford. I don't need that speed for what I do anyway. I've been running AMD for years and years and they have never let me down. Stock coolers and all.

 

All I noticed on the few AMD systems I have is heat, heat, heat.

 

All my PC's are AMD, An Athlon II, Phenom II, A-10 and an A-8 APU's. I haven't noticed any excessive heat. I keep things clean though, no dust bunnies in my systems.

 

My A8-6600K runs rather cool and I clean out my system at least every week.

 

The AMD chips in the early '00s used to run very hot.
