Windows 10: Memory and Disk pinned hours after updates 5015878 and 5015730 installed

I might be wrong about the updates being the cause but that is the current theory. I have ~12 machines in our org with all the users reporting severe performance issues that are alleviated by a reboot but that only buys a couple of hours before it happens again. These issues started after our patch management Qualys installed updates kb5015878 and kb5015730. We have 100's of computer so this isn't wide spread. We removed kb5015878 on affected machines but users are still complaining so that is not the sole solution. Now we are trying to remove kb5015730 to see if that changes anything. Look

In this machine to install Win7 it took 10 freaking hours

well with a bunk OS install, best thing to do is start from scratch, using Killdisk. Killdisk takes about 1~2 hours. In anycase id suggest finding Disk Checking Tools from the HD Maker, Hitachi has DFT which tests the disks integrity for any faults.

Run CMD


1. diskpart
2. list disk

Then in the 3º step, put the correct number of disk in the list for the usb flash (if it's listed in disk 3, then you'll have to write select disk 3).

2. select disk #
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

with that commands you will format the flash drive in fat32, if you have a large drive you can select also "format fs=ntfs" in step 7.
