  1. Memory Leak when using start menu on second monitor.

Hi,I have a strange problem with my Win 10 PC grinding to a halt. I have narrowed it down to opening the start menu on a second monitor. The primary screen works fine. It can balloon out to 30+ GB memory usage under explorer.exesystem RAM 16GB and consuming page file. It will usually crash explorer beyond this point. Normally only 4~5 seconds to consume 100% Phisical memory. I have followed many explorer memory leak guides with no success. Like below....sfc /scannowDISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealthwsreset.exefor %i in %windir%\\system32\\*.dll do regsvr32.exe /s %ichkdsk C: /fDiff

Explorer.exe leaks memory when start menu is opened on second monitor

For a while i started noticing a strange thing - when i open start menu on my second screen, the menu freezes and search bar on first screen starts freaking out. When i opened the task menager, i noticed that the memory was leaking during that freeze - explorer.exe used 9Gb of RAM and (explorer.exe + system process) used ~90% CPU. Eventually menu crashes. I usually don't get any errors or event log entries, but i did get one after waiting for some time with menu opened. Is there any fix for my problem?

    Memory leak issue

The term "memory leak" means that an application fails to return all its RAM to the operating system when it exits. The leftover RAM is unusable to the operating system.

Step one is to identify the application that is leaking memory. Step two is to contact the application's developers and provide as much detailed data on the memory leak as you can. For example: which processes are still in RAM after the application exits
and how much RAM they occupy. Application developers never want their applications to leak memory and they will be grateful for the details you provide, particularly if they can replicate the leak on their own computers.

Possible Memory Leaks in Windows 10

A memory leak occurs when an application closes and fails to release all its RAM back to the operating system.

The first step in dealing with a memory leak is to determine which application is leaking memory.

The next step is to contact that application's technical support with complete details of the memory leak, since the developers will want to fix the problem ASAP.
