  1. Memory usage is excessively high while no programs are open

I've been dealing with this issue for about a month now... Basically, my memory usage is very high (92% or so) while I have no programs open. I assume this is due to Windows background processes, but I am afraid to end one of them in case I mess something up. I have 6 GB of RAM on my laptop, and didn't have this problem before. Here is a screenshot of the Resource Monitor when I have nothing open (except the resource monitor, of course):

Thanks for any help, my computer is running like a brick..

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Memory Problems

My computer has a bunch of memory problems. Sometimes when I log on the disk usage is at 100% without me even opening anything and others my memory usage is super high from running 1 program. Also my games crash and say not enough virtual memory but I
    have 16 GB of RAM.

Excessive CPU usage by IE 11

For the last couple of weeks IE 11 on my Windows 10x64 PC has been using an excessively high amount of CPU constantly. 1 or 2 tabs never trapped CPU usage below about 7% even after webpages that open for a significant amount of time. I've run all the tests
I can think of including SFC/scannow which reported no problems.

Obviously this is affecting everything I do on the PC while I have IE open.

Could you make screenshots of the memory usages in 2 ways:
    • task manager, processes, filtered on 'memory' (click on the tab to filter)
    • task manager, performance, memory
    and post them

What we see now from your screenshot doesn't provide an answer what is taking the amount of memory, because you didn't filter any usage.

The Paged pool is very high at 21.5 GB. There is no way to tell from Task Manager or Resource Monitor how much of this is in RAM but it is probably substantial. The memory warnings are likely from the commit charge approaching the commit limit. The cause is most likely a driver problem. Sorry I can't help further with that.

If it matters I was messing around with my synaptics driver, if that's the problem

As requested, click on 'Memory' to filter the usage on 'memory' in task manager.
We'll need to know what exactly is using the memory, 94% is not normal usage.

It seems if removing my mouse's USB receiver solved the issue (I suppose it had a memory leak). Thanks for the help

Because the driver of the mouse has a bug, for a better explanation please contact the manufacturer of the mouse because then you look for in-depth reasons that we cannot provide.
