Windows 10: Memory_management bsod

It could yes, did you run '/r' with chkdsk?

Please check the health of the hard drives with HDTune, make screenshots of the health and post them.

 

I ran chkdsk /r /f on both drives. I'm backing up the smaller Samsung drive onto the newer 3TB drive - in the process it crashed with a bug check in NTFS about three times. I'm going to swap the drives - put the new drive inside the system, then plug the older Samsung into my USB cradle. I'll run HDTune on them when the backup's done - won't be for a few days.

OK, the 3TB drive doesn't show up in HDtune but the Samsung 750GByte drive does - here are the two pages attached:Attachment 62449Attachment 62450

 

I've swapped out the 750GByte drive, now it's only the SSD and 3TB drive. This now shows up in HDTune:Attachment 62462

 

It's crashed again 8(

Please run SeaTools again on the drives.

Run SeaTools to check the integrity of your HDD. SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use - Windows 7 Help Forums
Run following tests

• Short Drive Self Test
• Short generic
• Long generic

If the short generic fails, no need for the long generic.


Note Do not run SeaTools on an SSD as the results will be invalid.

 

The 3TB drive passed all the Seagate tests. However, the system still crashes (see the previously reply).

 

Do you hav another cable?

 

I tried running BurnInTest, and it revealed memory errors. Curious... I reran memtest (Windows) and tried memtest86. Neither of those showed anything. So I tried BurnInTest again, memory errors.

So I reduced the BIOS speed of the memory. Down at 1033, the errors went away. Let's see if I get anymore BSOD.

What cable?

 

I got one more BSOD, and running BurnInTest revealed 1 error. Decided to pull 8GByte of the memory and return to 1600 clock. 300 errors with BurnInTest even before it timed out. Swapped to the 2nd set, now down to 0 errors. No more BSOD so far. So I've returned the memory as faulty, and buying more to see if that gets me 16GByte of stable memory.

 

Another cable for the drivers, but I think it won't be necessary anymore *Smile

No more BSOD, replaced memory working fine. System much better than before with Netflix - it might stutter, but audio doesn't start breaking up as it did on my old system.
