    Office 365 Word: Mail Merge - Is it Supported for editing if the Source file is Saved in a Network Shared Drive?

    Are you talking about the data source or the mail merge main document?

    If you are talking about the data source, you will not be able to save any changes to it while the mail merge main document to which it is attached is open. That is the case, whether or not the file is saved on a shared drive or on the local drive. When
    you use Save As to save the data source document to an new location, the document in that location is NOT attached to the mail merge main document and as a result, there are no restrictions on what you can do with it.
