    Now before I do that...…...

I'm going to have to make a back up of the latest upgraded version of my operating system which is the latest Windows 10 home version 1903. Also got to make a copy of the serial number to that. BTW its an OM sooo when I got this machine a number of years ago I didn't get a physical one on paper and or plastic (going to have to look for that too). Then finally, going to back up all my personal files and book marks.

Then when I take care of all of that I would like to merge two partitions. My Data (DMerging partitions in Windows 10 latest addition. :) to my (CMerging partitions in Windows 10 latest addition. :). Now I don't want to merge all of the Data drive, just some of it. Is that possible and if so is it safe? I just hope in the end it won't scramble my system and such.

So if any one can help and give some assurance, it would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks.

BTW I wouldn't have to do all of this if you guys didn't continue to stuff my backpack ( my poor windows computer) while I try to climb that big hill.

    :)

  2. Merging partitions

    Hi RFish3

My name is Andre Da Costa; an Independent Consultant, Windows Insider MVP and Windows & Devices for IT MVP. I'm here to help you with your problem.

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Disk Management

Right click the System partition where Windows 10 is installed then click Extend.

Click Yes when the warning appears.

A wizard will now begin that will guide through the steps to merge back the unallocated space with your system partition.

The wizard provides a simple procedure to merge back the unallocated space with the system drive. Once you have selected the space, click Next, at the end of the wizard, you will see the amount allocated.

  3. Disk management can't merge two partition. (One of them was a linux based partition)

    Hi Kevin,

There are different factors that can contribute as to why you not able to merge or extend the space used by a specific partition on the hard drive. one possible cause could be due to the unallocated space having a different file format. For us to resolve
your concern, kindly answer the questions below:

    • Was the option "extend volume" greyed out?
    • Were there any error messages when you attempted to extend or merge the unallocated space?
    • What file system did you use when you formatted the partition?
    • Which version and build of Windows 10 is installed on your computer?

As an initial recommendation, you can have a look at the post of Waido2525 in this
thread. His answer received 191 votes from people that have resolved their
    issue following the suggested steps.

We look forward to your response to our queries.

How to merge the Health (Recovery Partition) in Windows 10

Previously, I used AOMEI Partition Assistant without any issue, but now after I delete the 450 MB Health (Recovery Partition) & merge with my C: drive, this error popped out; (I'm unable to merge it anymore)

"The version of your system is equal or higher than 1703. We suggest you don't resize/move system partition, which may cause system boot failure. We suggest create a Windows PE bootable media and rezise/move system partition with it."

Any suggestion to merge the partition? Thanks & greatly appreciated. FYI, I tried various application also not working.

    There's a \\?\Volume{ff855cc7-980a-44a3-aa46-1eed8d8c8b8c}\ located on Optimize Drives.
(The 450 MB Health Recovery Partition)

    P.S. Windows 10 Pro x64 Version 1709 (OS Build 16299.19)
