    Messed the Registry Editor, How do I fix it from advanced Settings?


    So... I had a bit of an issue making webcams work on my PC, and I was dumb enough to believe a random YouTube video would help, turns out I created a DWORD called "EnableFrameServer" and set it to 0.When I restarted my PC, windows informed me it couldn't boot, and redirected me to advanced options.I've tried restoring to a previous point didn't work, I tried opening a .reg backup I made before messing things up from commands console, and it didn't fix the issue either.Is my only choice to make a clean Install? :/

As said in the posts above, DICE silently released a patch for the Battlefield 4 Beta, which changed the location of the settings files, breaking BF4 Settings Editor in the process. This hotfix resolves the issue, while also including a few other fixes and improvements. Be sure to update to the latest version!

    Here is the full list of changes for this version.

    • DICE silently released a patch which changed the location of the Battlefield 4 Beta settings files. BF4 Settings Editor now looks for the settings in the new location.
    • Fixed a bug where changing the system tray icon options would not properly update the icon's visibility.

    Registry Editor Freezes !!

    I HAD TO DO A CLEAN INSTALL STARTING W/MICSOFT 7 PRO. ALSO HAD TO DO A LOT OF FINGER CROSSING!

    AND WHEN IT UPDATES IT WENT TO THE NEW VERSION OF WINDOWS 10. 1511_10586.71 INSTEAD OF THE BUILD 10586.0. 10586.0 WAS THE BUILD THAT HAD THE REGISTRY EDITOR FLAW.

    group policy editor VS registry settings

    ALL settings are applied through the registry. The Group Policy Editor is just a GUI with a set of templates containing the registry settings required.

    Microsoft publish this spreadsheet listing all the policies and the registry settings they use.
