Windows 10: MFPlat.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error....

Hi - I am having trouble with an error that comes up when I am trying to access the video in video conferencing software. Because of this error, my camera is inaccessible to hold virtual meetings. This is the the error:


"c:\Windows\System32\MFPlat.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator on or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f."


I have uninstalled and reinstalled the videoconferencing software - no resolution.


I have run CMD - sfc /SCANNOW and the result is that I have some irreparable issues in the registry.


What do I do?

I've just upgraded to Windows 10, but now when I try to open most Adobe programs an error like this shows.... "msvcp120.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error...". I've purchased dll file fixer, and it hasn't helped.
