    Hi, i am having an issue from my microphone level options. i searched some youtube videos and those didn't work, so how do i enable the microphone boost optionNote : I did try one of these on some random forums- updating driver doesn't work- re-enabling driver doesn't work- rolling back driver doesn't work- unistalling driver also doen't workso how do i fix the problem

    Mic Boost slider missing in Windows 8.1

    I have a good quality professional mic (USB) yet the input volume is very low inspite of the high volume settings in Audacity.

    I was looking for a solution and found a number of articles advising to increase the mic boost in the sound levels window.

    The problem is that I DO NOT have the mic boost slider below the volume slider. I have never seen it there from day one.

    Apparently this is a known issue - except that no one has got the solution - which is

    How to activate the mic boost slider so that it shows in the levels window (and can be adjusted)

    I have Windows 8.1 (64)

    I do hope that someone from MS support can help me find my mic boost slider.

    External Mic boost can't go further than +10dB

    Hello Carlo,

    Thank you for your suggestions for the problem. Unfortunately, I have already done all the steps and my mic is still very quiet. The microphone boost slider also still can't go higher than +10dB. Troubleshooters says nothing gone wrong with my mic or audio settings. Tried uninstalling drivers and reinstalling it with the link you have provided. But none works..
