Windows 10: Mic doesn't work in Xbox PC Party Chat

I am using my PC and have been using this xbox widget thing for 2 years now. Once I got my new headset I could be heard perfectly in xbox parties except for an echo and the other party members being able to here sound from my headset. But up until recently my mic hasn't been working. I can hear people in the party but they can't hear me. My mic works on everything else and the audio widget for xbox even detects sound so I thought it was just a problem with xbox and thought it would be fixed soon. It's been 2 weeks since and I still have the same problem. My mic did work for one day but went ba

For us to better isolate this issue, kindly provide us the following information below:

• Can you tell us if you're using a child account?
• May I know if you were able to join party chat on another computer while using the same account?
• Can you tell us the troubleshooting steps that you have tried so far?

In the meantime, I recommend that you try using another Xbox account in the Xbox app and check if you will be able to join party chat. This will help us to determine if the issue is within the app or on the account that you're using.

If you can't switch from in-game chat to party chat on your Xbox One console, it may indicate that there's a problem with the Xbox Live service or your network connection.

Xbox Party Chat Not Working on PC: How to Fix If You Can't Join (Avoid ad links which intrude into editorial copy, especially avoid Restoro ad)







Try resetting Xbox Game Bar, Xbox Console Companion and Xbox Live in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Xbox feature > Advanced Options. Restart PC and try again.

If those fail then try uninstalling the apps in Settings location above, restart PC then reinstall from MS Store Settings > My Library.

If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now.
