Windows 10: Mic doesn't work when I allow Windows to Download manufacturer's updates

Within the last two days, my microphone stopped working on my brand new MSI Desktop. I tried everything, and finally found what worked. I disabled "automatic downloads and updates of manufacturer's apps and custom icons", and then uninstalled "Realtek(R) Audio" in the "sound, video and game controllers" section of Device Manager. It reinstalled when I restarted, and everything works fine.


To be clear, I made sure that it was not a port issue, an issue with my headset/microphone, and that my drivers were up to date on my devices before doing this.


When I re-enable auto installation of manufacturer updates, the same problem comes back. I'm concerned because I am not technically savvy enough to manually update device drivers on a regular basis, and would prefer that this functionality is turned on.


Is my concern valid? Is there no other way to fix this in a more sustainable, long-term sense?

Double Tap doesn`t work on Lumia 620

Hello,

Double Tap to wake doesn`t work at my Lumia 620. I have all on in settings but still doesn`t work. I`m pretty sure that in update AMBER or BLACK this function works properly. But after DENIM update doesn`t. Maybe you are planning some update for this future
?

Front Panel Headphones and Mic not working.

Hey Everyone,

Mobo : ASUS M2N MX SE
Processor : AMD Athlon X2 5200+
OS : Windows XP Professional SP2 x86

My Rear panel Speakers and mic works all fine. I got a new set of headphones(with mic) when i connect it to the front panel they don't work. NO SOUND OUTPUT.

I updated the audio drivers. I tried a few many things but I still can't get them running.
My default Sound Manager is Realtek HD Audio Manager.

Please help me get my Front Panel working. A step-by-step guide would be better.

Thanks for the update on the issue.

If you are using the port on the speakers to connect the headphones and mic, I'd suggest you to connect it to the port on the PC and check if it helps.

In addition to that, I suggest you to visit the device manufacturer's website and try to install the latest drivers and check if it helps.

You can install Windows 8/8.1 drivers in compatibility mode if there are no Windows 10 compatible drivers.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Download the updated driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right click the driver installation file and select
  Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
  
• Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
  OK.
• Try installing the driver and check.
