Windows 10: Mic drivers have disappeared in Windows 11

I use a Logitech Brio webcam and the microphone doesn't work, which I originally thought was a fault with the Webcam. I then bought a cheap plug and play USB headset which has the same problem. I spoke to Logitech about this and although I got a "not our problem" response, they at least helped me to identify the plug and play Microsoft drivers for a microphone are no longer available. I've tracked this back to uninstalling Steam, which appears to have replaced the original drivers with Steam ones and removed them when I uninstalled Steam. I re-installed Steam and the drivers are still gone.

USB Mic Problems.

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .

 

No mic will work windows 11

I have tried using Bluetooth device (speaker is fine/no mic), the laptop on board speakers are fine/no mic, a 3.5mm jack headset (speaker is fine/no mic) and a USB headset (speaker is fine/no mic). I haven't found a solution for this issue.

I have tried updating Windows 11, updating the audio drivers, making sure the mic is usable by all apps, uninstalling audio devices in device manager and restarting, and stopping Windows audio services in services.msc and starting them back up.

Nothing seems to work. I tried running a troubleshooter and it came up with an error and couldn't proceed. I'm not at home, so I will update with the error code when I get a chance.

Any suggestions on how to get microphones to work on this computer?
