  1. Mic gain keeps fluctuating without being manually adjusted

I have an older Logitech QuickCam, which is plugged in via USB and has a built in mic. Every time I restart my computer (Sometimes even while my computer is running) my mic gain will automatically go up to 100. I turned off "Allow applications to take exclusive access control of this device" in the Advanced tab of the mic in Control Panel, set "When Windows detects communications activity" to "Do nothing," turned off "Listen to this device" in the Listen tab, turned off automatic gain control in Discord, and nothing worked. Help!

Side note: When I make changes the Apply button doesn't work (Grayed out). Might be the issue, IDK

  3. Mic keeps Automatically Adjusting on Windows 10

Hi. I did method 1, however, the APPLY button never lights up to be able to click on it. When I restart my laptop my mic is at 55 again instead of 100. -_-

Method 1: Manually turn up the mic gain

    • Type in “Sound” in the Search box and select Sound (Control Panel) from the list.

    • Select the Recording tab.

    • Right-click (or tap and hold) on the active microphone input device and select Properties.

    • Select the Levels tab.
Manually drag the Microphone gain to a higher level and click Apply
