Windows 10: Mic issues with Windows

Hi all,

so i have recently bought a XLR mic with a phantom power supply, but unfortunately it does not show up on my hp 14-dq1033cl laptop. I can connect headphones with a microphone and it would show up in both recording and playback, but when i connect my XLR mic to the laptop it does not show up as a recording but as a playback device

i have been trying many different troubleshooting techniques with no success, including restarting the device with the mic plugged in, updating all my laptop drivers, disabling and enabling the realtek audio driver, but none of these have shown success. When i tried to use my mic on my dell laptop it worked perfectly and it gave me an option to choose what was connected to the headphone jack. Some other information about the mic would be it is a bm800 and has a phantom power unit as well. The cable that is used to connect the mic to the computer is a trs connector. hopefully this issues can be solved

USB Mic Problems.

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

 

Mic issue with Realtek

Hi,

I would suggest you to first check if the MIC is set as the default device. Right click on the volume bar in the notification area and then click on 'recording' devices. In the recording tab, right click in the MIC and click 'Set as Default' and then check. If
the issue still persists, I would suggest run the Audio troubleshooter and check. Press Windows key +X and then click on 'Control panel'. Click on 'Troubleshooting' and then click on the 'Audio troubleshooter' Try these steps and let us know the results.

 

Issues with Mic? a MB issue? OS issue?

shed some light here. i plugged my Mic. to front panel and the volume is louder but the issue with the Detection at first is still happening. i have to hit the *Detect Audio Devices button in order to get a better connection or whatever. i'll try what you suggested.
