Windows 10: Mic not plugged in when it is plugged in

For a good while now maybe since November 2021 my headset mic hasn't been working and when i check Sound in control panel it says my mic isn't plugged in however it is and I've tried troubleshooting but it still says its not plugged in I've also tried looking at youtube videos but none of them helped and im not sure how to reinstall the Microphone driver as it doesnt show up when i expand audio inputs and outputs on device manager. This problem was happening when i had Windows 10 and hasn't been fixed when i updated to Windows 11.

• Did you already try to plugged the headset into another port which indicating the mic and headset icon?
• When did the issue first occur?
• Did you already try to use another headset to other devices and check if you are encountering the same issue?

Microphone not plugged in (it is)

What is the exact Dell Model Name and Number? Helps us to try and help you with the specific PC rather than general suggestions. I also do support on the Dell forums and the line (e.g. Inspiron or OptiPlex) and the model number really helps. Also is this a PC mic with a 3.5mm stereo plug or a USB connected mic?

How odd. I tried using both ports for the mic and headset before and it still said the mic wasn't plugged in, but now it does and the mic is working. I'm not sure what changed overnight, but it would appear the problem is fixed. Sorry to waste your time.
