Windows 10: Mic only picking up desktop audio and nothing else

This problem started maybe 6 months ago. My mic on my headset seems to function as an extra speaker. basically, if I play music on my computer through my headset, anything trying to pic up my mic input will instead hear the music. And when no audio is playing on the computer, the mic refuses to pic up anything at all. It's labeled as "stereo mix" in the recording section in sounds. I've tried multiple solutions and none seem to work. I'm running on a dell optiplex windows 11 computer.

My Mic is picking up Desktop Audio.

Recently I downloaded a Soundboard app, After I got tired of it and deleted it a problem started and my Mic is picking up Desktop Audio like the Soundboard where if I played a sound my Mic will pick it up and play it. The "Listen to this device" is Unchecked.

The issue could be because of the internal mic picking up sound even when the external device is pluuged in. If you have the RealTek HD Audi Manager installed on the machine, I would suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works for
you.

• Open RealTek HD Audio Manager and go to the
  Advanced tab.
  
• Check the boxes Separate all input jacks as independent input devices
  and Mute the internal output device, when external headphone is plugged in,
  and hit OK.
  
• Exit RealTek HD Audio Manager, restart the machine and see if the issue persists.
