Windows 10: Mic Problems

I was trying to connect a headset a few weeks ago to use with the built in mic. I used an audio splitter but it didn't work, my computer was unable to pick up audio from the mic. I was fiddling around a lot with Realtek and ultimately, my sound settings ended up looking like this. Before this ordeal, there was no microphone section in this part of the speaker properties.




My problem now is that I can't use the PC's built-in microphone. Is there someway to reset the selected speakers? I have tried troubleshooting, Windows isn't finding a problem. I tried setting up a new microphone, no dice. I know in the pic it shows I've muted the microphone, it doesn't work when unmuted and set to maximum.


The recording device that's currently set to default is the built-in mic labeled microphone array. I also tried using the stereo mix instead, still nothing. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Realtek multiple times over the past few days, but the current configuration in settings won't budge I also lost the HD Audio Manager, i really can't do anything right. I'm afraid that in my fumbling, I've caused windows to not recognise the built-in mic anymore even though it's set to default.


My last resort is to reset the PC completely but I don't want to do that if there's something else I can try first. The only thing i haven't tried yet is using the 'High Definition Audio Device' driver instead of Realtek. The speakers themselves work no problem.


My device is a Lenovo All-in-One Ideacentre 510S-23ISU PC, running Windows 10 Home edition, version 1909.

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

im having the same problem as well, gone through all the steps listed but still no luck unfortunately.

I do apologize if the above steps did not worked. Lets try to ensure first if the Microphone is listed as your default Recoding Device. Please click START and search CONTROL PANEL and go to SOUNDS then we need to go to RECORDING TAB and check if the Mic is
listed if not try to right click on that windows and check both Disable and Disconnected Device if it shows up right click and go to properties and check levels and make sure its not disabled.
