Windows 10: Mice and touch pad problems in Windows 10

Hi,


I running windows 10 pro activated in a Lenovo v 310 laptop. Last week suddenly the mouse on the touch pad started behaving erratically. The main problems are as follows:-


- The cursor does not move sometimes

- When it works and I click on a file item it suddenly gets deleted and moved into the Recycle Bin

- Even when I right click the mouse, the items get deleted

- While typing this message itself the letters get erased automatically


I have uninstalled and re-installed the mouse and keyboard divers many times

I have formatted the drives and reinstalled windows multiple times.

Done all types of trouble shooting as much possible


But no success. Pleasee help.

turn off touch pad

Hi Brian,

You can disable Touch pad from the Device Manager. Make sure that the mouse is already plugged in before disabling the touch pad. To disable Touch pad, follow these steps:

• Press and hold Windows logo key + R.
• Type Devmgmt.msc in the Run command dialog box.
• Press Enter.
• Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
• Right-click on the first HID-compliant mouse entry.
• Select Disable.
• Hit Yes.

Touch Pad Notworking on WIndows 10

We understand how difficult it is, when the device doesn't work in the way it should. Seems that the touchpad is not working in Windows 10 and
in order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
  
• What is the KB number of recent update that installed on the PC?
  
• What is the exact issue you are facing with the touchpad functionality?
  

However, we would suggest you to update the touchpad driver and check if the issue persist.

1. Please download the touch pad driver from Asus
   website.
   
2. Press Windows + X key from the keyboard and select
   Device Manager.
   
3. Expand the Mice and other pointing devices from the list.
   
4. Right click on the touchpad driver listed and click on
   Uninstall.
   
5. Then check the box beside Delete the driver software for this device and click
   OK.

We would also suggest you to perform the steps as referred in this article:

and check if that fix the issue.

how to disable the touch pad?

That's a problem that is specific to the make/model of your laptop.

I would try disabling it in Device manager

1. Start globe (bottom left)
2. type device into the text box
3. Click on Device manager
4. Find the mice and other pointing devices item, click on it once
5. Find the touch pad, RIGHT click on it and choose disable.

Not sure this will work. If not, contact the manufacturer of your laptop.

You may also be able to find a way to reduce the sensitivity of the pad and that may solve your problem.
