Windows 10: Mice constantly stop working

Hi,

since like half a year now I'm experiencing the following problem on my T580 laptop Windows 10 - always latest version - currently 19042.685:

I can use bluetooth and USB mice for hours without problems until they suddenly in the middle of a task stop working.
I usually use my bluetooth mouse and experience the issue there first but the USB mouse turns ineffective as well.
Windows still recognizes the mice and connects successfully to the bluetooth mouse but I just can't use them to do any input anymore.
I can still use the trackpad for mouse steering though.


I'm not posting technical specs of the mice since when the issue occurs all mice that I tried so far connected but were unresponsive. All drivers are up-to-date.


The issue always resolves itself after a reboot but then occurs again after a few hours/days. I could find no consistency between programs used or the time elapsed until the problem occurs.


It's just gotten to a point where it's just ridiculous to reboot your PC in the midst of work sometimes even each two hours.

How do I change scroll direction of a mouse NOT listed under Mice?

Thanks; yes, those are great directions and did work to change the direction of the wired mouse that came with the computer. But the mouse I'm using doesn't show up as a mouse in the hardware list, so I can't follow the rest of those steps. I need the mouse to appear on the list of mice in order to complete this sequence.
