Dear Microsoft Community,I'd like to share my finding with all who experience micro-freezes using a clean Windows 10 installation. This solution requires no downloads or updates whatsoever. I hope that some users out there might find the same relieve from these unacceptably obtrusive freezing events as I did. Writing, web browsing and using the Windows Explorer was a pain even though running high end hardware on a machine that is build for sophisticated rendering and gaming. Explorer occasionally refreshed and jumped back to the top of the folder.These micro-freezes affected my almost entire

I'd like to share my finding with all who experience micro-freezes using a clean Windows 10 installation. This solution requires no downloads or updates whatsoever. I hope that some users out there might find the same relieve from these unacceptably obtrusive
freezing events as I did. Writing, web browsing and using the Windows Explorer was a pain even though running high end hardware on a machine that is build for sophisticated rendering and gaming. (Explorer occasionally refreshed and jumped back to the top of

These micro-freezes affected my almost entire Windows 10 experience. Short freezes of 1-3 seconds occurring at somewhat regular intervals. (I did not find these occurring during gaming)

For my case I found it connected to the setting that lets Windows 10 automatically choose an accent color based on the current background (Settings / Personalization / Colors / Checkbox "Automatically pick an accent color from my background". I had a slideshow
as background changing every minute, causing accent color updates often. After turning the automatic accent color change off, I experienced no more freezes at all!

@MiCrOsOfT Developers: It seems like the process that chooses the accent color automatically severely blocks the entire system. Even my threadripper had trouble with this. Could it be possible, that cores that are frequently chosen for e.g. Microsoft Office
applications, browser etc. are the same ones (multiple ones!) used for the automatic color choosing? It manifests in a severe bottleneck.

System freezing at regular intervals after windows 10 update

Hi team,

Mine is a HP laptop with i7 and 12 GB RAM configuration. I have upgraded from Windows 8.1 to windows 10.

I had no issues in Win 8 or Win 8.1 but after recent update to Win 10 I face a terrible issue of system freezing very frequently with regular intervals.

I have no black screen problem or any other issues. The only issue I face is system freezing for about 5 secs at regular intervals (say some 60 secs once).

Let me know if there is a fix for this?

If not, tell me how to roll back to Win 8.1?

• What is the make and model of the computer?
  
• Did you make any changes prior to this issue?
  

Meanwhile you may try the steps listed below and check if the issue persists:

• Update graphics card drivers.
  
  Refer update drivers in Windows 10
  to know how to update drivers
  

• Place the computer in a clean boot state.
  
  To place the computer in a clean boot state, refer to
  clean boot in Windows 10.
  
  Note:
  
  A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program.
  
  Your computer may temporarily lose some functionality while in a clean boot environment, however that functionality will return when you
  reset the computer to start normally after you have finished your troubleshooting.
  
  Set the computer to start normally after troubleshooting. To place the computer in normal startup mode, refer to
  clean boot in Windows 10.
