Windows 10: Micro HDMI port NOT FOUND

Hey there, this is my first question so.. ill try to be explicit.


I have a lenovo ideapad 710S and I'm trying to use a second monitor with my laptop, using a micro HDMI-DVI cable.

When I first used the monitoran old, it worked just fine. After 2 weeks, it either gives me a black screen, or check signal cable error.

Then, I tried another monitora new. Which worked just fine for 2 entire days, and then gave the same error..


I see that in my device manager, under display monitors, I only have my integrated graphic card: intelR HD Graphics 520

No hardware for my micro hdmi port.. is this normal? when i look at solutions there are always 2.


I also have a dual boot Ubuntu, where the problem is the same.


What i have tried:

-monitors work with another laptop just fine.

-cables work just fine too.

-win+p changing display

-change Intel graphic settings to the monitors resolution.

-tried to find the port hardware, couldn't find.

-installed monitors spesific hardwares under monitors.

-restarted, unplugged and plugged

-installed lenovo vantage and updated

-my windows is up to date


I can't find any other solutions so if you have an idea, hmu please!

I have laptops with the "regular" HDMI port, and I have a tablet with micro HDMI port.
I have cables connecting HDMI to TV for both devices.
I have TVs with HDMI ports.

But .......
How do I connect my "vintage" Surface Pro1 to TV ? It does not have a HDMI port.
Is there some kind of "adaptor" to do that ?
If yes, what is it called ?

P.S. I know Chromecast is "supposed" to do that, but that is not my question.

After googling , seems to me MHL (micro USB) to HDMI adaptor is the closest to an answer although my Surface Pro1 does not have a micro usb port, but my other tablets do.

You goodwill is unsurpassed. You have no idea how much impressed I am.

However I have already bought one from eBay about an hour or two ago for under $10 Canadian.
Hope its the right kind.
