Microphone does not pick up voice, only computer audio

This issue has persisted for a long time and all fixes i've tried have not worked, here is what ive tried to do to fix the issue:1. updated drivers2. replaced the audio jack in my computer3. swapped headphones after ensuring both work on other devices4. checked privacy settings to see if all apps have access they do5. uninstalled and reinstalled drivers automatically through a restart6. reinstalled windows completely7. put my output volume to max8. ran audio trouble shooter, which came up with nothing9. ensured my microphone was not mutedOverall, i can hear my desktop audio such as youtube

  2. Microphone only picks up audio from headphones?

I currently have a pair of razer kraken pro v2's which are plugged into my computer via a headphone splitter. My computer detects my headphones just fine (audio working and all), but when it comes to using the microphone it doesn't seem to pick up my voice at all and only picks up audio coming out through the headphones.

(EDIT): My microphone can now pick up my voice, but it still picks up sounds from my computer. Any way to fix this this?

  3. How do I make the voice recorder pick up computer audio?

    Hi Matt,

I am Mario and I am a independent advisor, and I would like to help you.

You can try the following steps:

1- Right-click on the speaker icon in your system tray and select "Open Sound settings."

2- Scroll down and click on "App volume and device preferences."

3- Under "Output," select your voice recorder app from the list of apps.

4- Under "Output device," select "Default" or your computer speakers.

5- Under "Input," select your microphone from the list of devices.

6- Make sure the volume for both the voice recorder app and your computer audio is turned up.

7- Test the recording to make sure both your voice and computer audio are being picked up.

Some voice recorder apps may not allow you to record computer audio due to copyright or privacy reasons. If that's the case, you may need to use a separate audio recording tool.

Hope this can help you solving the issue.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Best regards,

    Mário

Microphone not picking up my voice

    Hello Mathew,

My name is Nada an independent advisor, and I'm here to help you.

I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue, and I will try my best to assist you.

As it is possible that this is due to a corrupted, outdated, and malfunctioning audio and microphone driver. You can try to update your microphone driver and select the previous version, commonly the suggested driver for your system to get this sorted out.

To proceed you may follow the steps below:

    1. Open Device Manager:

    2. Click the drop-down for Audio inputs and outputs

    3. Look for your microphone driver

    4. Right-click and Update

    5. Look for the option that says "Browse my computer for driver..."

    6. Select the option that says "Let me pick drivers available drivers"

    7. Then choose an old driver version and click next to use it.

    8. Please restart the device for the changes to take effect.

You can also try to change the default audio device by doing the following steps:

From Settings > System > Sound > Open up the Input devices dropdown menu and select your microphone.

In case your Microphone is disabled, please try the following steps to enable it:

    1. From Settings > Go to System > Click on Sound in the left sidebar > click

Manage sound devices > under the troubleshooting button in the input device settings

    2. Scroll down and locate your device under the disabled section > click enable.

Also, I highly suggest you check and install available Windows updates.
