Windows 10: microphone is not detected

I just piurchased new Dell laptop and ms internal microphone is not being detected. I turned on but does not show in tray or system incon selection. It did work a couple of times by using windows logo_+H, but now I get message but can not use,display shows the microphone test but when i press start it does not work. I downloaded Dell driver but still nothing.Microphone does not show in Device Manager neither in Audio in or Sound.One recommendation was to download build KB5010414, cumulative update - should I - if yes please provide instructions.Your help is greatly appreciated, it is difficult

Microphone not detected

I've run it, it says the problem was 'Generic audio driver'. But I don't actually feel any problems on playing audios. My problem was about external microphones not detected, this laptop wont detect any external microphones
plugged in, it will always use the internal microphone. I've done the troubleshoot (recording audio) and the troubleshoot said they can't detect the problem.

 

Microphone on Headphones Not Detected (Windows 10)

I gave you many steps to force the headset microphone to show up. They would take more than an hour to perform, plus the way a forums works is interactively so we don't just give up after the first post but use feedback about your results to suggest more

External microphones detected but not working

I suggest you to run a Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

Please follow the below mentioned steps to run
Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

• Search for Troubleshooting in the
  Search box, and run it.
• Select view all in the left pane of troubleshooting Window.
• Click on the Hardware and Devices, and follow the
  on-screen instructions.
